How to Make Your Own Flypaper

0.1 Cut a brown paper bag into strips

Cut your paper bag into strips approximately 2-inches wide by 12-inches long (or feel free to make them any size you like).

02. Make the Mixture

Combine the sugar, honey and water in small saucepan. Turn heat to medium and stir until the mixture just comes to a boil and the sugar dissolves. Set aside for a couple minutes to cool.

Pour the sugar mixture into a shallow plate.

03. Submerge the paper strips

submerge the strips in the sugar-water mixture, and allow them to sit long enough to become saturated.

04. Remove the strips with tongs

Place strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let cool for a couple hours.

05. Hang your homemade fly paper strips

Hang fly paper in windows, corners and wherever you notice flies converging.

and place a towel underneath them to catch any sticky drips. Once they’re no longer dripping, you can move the strips to wherever they’re needed around your house!
